It's a Marathon or Sometimes a Sprint Tasting

Sometimes a whisky rushes to maturation with speed and athleticism, occasionally the spirit requires staying power and stamina, from a short race to one with staying power - we will let you taste short, middle and longer distance Ardbegs.  Which gets the gold for you?
Coasting – Smoke on the Water
10:00 12:00 14:00 12 places each £40.00
Take a rib from the Ardbeg pier round the south east coast of Islay past the smugglers coves, the nibbled rocky coastline and land at the bothy – a magical place where drams, bites and a bit of music will set your senses alight.
Old Kiln Café Olympic Feasts
The Café will be serving a real medley of good home cooked food – with an Ardbeggian twist of course.  Pole Vault, Long Jump OR Triathlon...  Fast food for athletes!

Ardbeg Islay-lympics

We don't need security for our very own take on the Olympics.

The opening ceremony will be at 11:00 and all entrants will parade once around the visitor centre. Then the Islay-lympics commence.  Closing ceremony with medals at 16:00.

Also during the week:

A Concert of Malts
Tuesday 29th May and Friday 1st June 11:00 14:00  30 places  £25.00
Take 5 Ardbegs – old and new, find a place in your memory or make a memory.  Add some good tunes for a great vibe. Indulge your senses and smell and taste the malts of Ardbeg.  But be sure to listen. A child of the 60s or a raver of the 80s – this one is for you.  Let whisky and music get down and boogie.
Peat Bog Dialogues
Monday 28th, Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st May 11:30 each day  15 places  £15.00
Take a walk.  Not any walk.  Take a friend.  Not any friend.  Introduce yourself to the landscape of Ardbeg – from the trickling water to the composition of the peat which has been used on Islay for thousands of years.  Take afternoon tea and cakes and have a rather civilised afternoon on the peat bog.
Beauty and the Beastie BBQ
Thursday 31st May 7pm TO 10pm   50 places  £20.00
Airigh nam Beist - the shelter of the beast.  High in the hills over Ardbeg distillery lurks a creature – it's our chef Calum!  He will be ready to prepare a feast fit for a beast.  Sprinkle some peat on the BBQ under the stars and let the guitar play. Sing a little and eat lots!
